Our Mission:

Partnering to Minister to the Needs

of the Under-Resourced

There are many food pantries in our community who offer a few bags of food and have limited hours and days they are open. Our vision is to have a one stop place of hope, connections, food and resources to offer a hand up. The Community Ministry Center (CMC) wants to partner with others who have the same goal of helping hurting, hungry families. Working together we can do so much more in our quest to end hunger in our community.

Our Story

The vision of a Community Ministry Center (CMC) was born after a Stop Hunger Now food packing event. We knew from the start that this was a God-size vision where He can receive honor and glory by making it happen!

There are many churches and non-profits in the Rt. 3 W corridor that offer food pantries. Food donations come from a variety of local businesses to be distributed weekly. Accepting donations is limited by freezer and refrigeration space. We know that people in need are asked to travel from food pantry to food pantry just to get enough for their families. Small churches that cannot host a food pantry would love to be a part of something that would centralize needed resources.

Our goal for the CMC is that it will become a one stop center for assistance. After many meetings with churches, and community leaders, we established our 501-C3 and Constitution & By laws. We have a Board of Directors and we have a for-profit arm of our non-profit, The Community Ministry Child Care Center  located in the children’s wing at Salem Baptist Church on Plank Rd. This Community Ministry Child Care Center  provides the funding to keep our CMC running!

God has opened many doors over the past 5 years and we are trying to stay on track with Him as He opens new doors for this ministry. We opened our Community Ministry Center on January 18, 2018.
